This day is celebrated on February 14 and it is customarily done by sending greeting cards, which is the most popular gift for this romantic occasion. These Valentine cards are generally designed with hearts which represent the sign for love.

This day is celebrated with much enthusiasm in North America and in most parts of the world with many gifts being exchanged during this romantic day. These gifts will range from the simplest greeting card, flowers, candy, stuff animals, and jewelry. The most common gift sent on this day, is the Valentines Day card and flowers, most common flower is roses. Candy is another favorite gift and the most common type of candy is chocolate. When it comes to jewelry it seems the most favorite would be something in the shape of a heart, whether it is a necklace, ear rings, or bracelets. These gifts are all to express ones affection to the one you love. Furthermore, this day brings lots of dances and parties that are organized all over, where people express love for their spouses and sweethearts by enjoying this day to the hilt.

Men and women completely view Valentine’s Day in different perspectives. Women celebrate Valentine’s Day because this is one day of the year that they express their love for their significant other. Men are a bit different on this day, as they celebrate by trying to find the prefect gift to give their partner and try to find something that the women in his life really wanted. Gift purchasing, can also be a stumbling block on Valentine’s Day, as women put a lot more thought into the gift that they are going to give that man in their life’s. This means that women expect the same in return, but for the most part do not offer any ideas to their partner of the type of gift, they would like to receive. Then it becomes more difficult for the man to purchase the proper gift that has that sentimental value. This generally leads to the stereotyping of men not being as romantic as women.

Therefore, women need to see Valentine’s Day from a mans point of view and remembering that if there is something special that you wish to do, then come out and tell him, rather than end up being disappointed for something that you had expected.

No matter what happens on this Valentine’s Day or on future ones, always remember that your partner has tried to please you with want ever the gift or night out might be. It shows that he has tried to please you, and he is the love of your life.
